There is always a challenge with using transit to go bikepacking. Challenge is to have ride back from Fernie to Merrit or to Vancouver. I guess people can carpool, but there is no viable transportation from Fernie back home. You either continue to Banff and have direct link or go back to Kaslo. From Kaslo there is direct link (Balfour).

In both options you will need box back to be able to board bus.

Ideally all this companies will allow to slide bike in compartment. I did that several times using Tofino bus to go to Port McNeil and bike along Nimpkish to Gold River and reach Campbell River.

We have a limited options.

Shaun, last time have you packed your bike in box or you were allowed to slide it in compartment? You mentioned last time cost of the ticket included bike. That would be nice! Could you confirm please?
